After three years, we were able to move back to South Carolina and rented a townhome. As time went by, I decided to look into the possibility of owning my own home, as my fiancé and I wanted something to leave behind for our daughter. When I first started looking at houses, most of them were older, requiring more maintenance that I can’t afford or have no experience with, had high interest rates, required gargantuan down payments, and would require relocation and changing schools. It was an emotional journey.
